Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions job seekers actually ask us. Something missing? Start with the two-minute setup and see for yourself.
Is this another auto-apply tool?
No — and that's deliberate. SearchSteward never applies on your behalf, never messages recruiters as you, and never touches your accounts. It watches your target companies' own career pages, scores every new opening against your profile, and shows you exactly why each one ranked where it did. You decide what to do with that.
Tools that spray applications get their users flagged; we'd rather you send five applications that land.
Are these real jobs, or scraped ghost listings?
Every listing comes directly from the employer's own career page — not from aggregators that recycle stale posts. We re-check open roles continuously, and a listing only stays in your feed if it's been re-confirmed on the company's site within the last 10 days. If a company takes a posting down, it leaves your feed.
Why do some lower-scored jobs rank above higher-scored ones?
Your feed is ordered by score plus two things the number alone can't tell you: freshness (a role posted this week beats one from a month ago) and whether it's at one of your target companies. The card shows a "↑ target company · fresh" tag when that's why, and every row has a "Why ranked here?" breakdown.
Am I the product? What happens to my resume?
The $19/month is the business model — there is no other one. Your resume is used to build your match profile and nothing else: it isn't sold, shared, or used to train models for anyone else. Delete your account and it goes with you.
What does the free plan actually include?
25 target companies watched daily and 25 scored matches a month, with the same scoring and explanations as paid. Radar ($19/mo) raises that to 1,000 scored matches a month, adds the full-depth open-market scan beyond your target list, unlimited AI resume tailoring and cover letters, negotiation playbooks, CSV export, and real-time alerts for high-fit matches.
What's the catch on the launch trial?
None hidden: 30 days of full Radar, no charge until it ends, and if you don't subscribe you lapse to the free plan — your account, targets, and history stay.
I'm outside the US — can I use it?
Today SearchSteward covers US and US-remote roles. International coverage is on the roadmap; you can create an account now and you'll be covered as we expand.
